Your business details appear throughout Scritches - on invoices, booking confirmations, your booking page, and client communications. Setting these up correctly ensures professional, accurate information everywhere.
Why Business Details Matter
Your business information:
Appears on invoices clients receive
Shows on booking confirmations and reminder emails
Displays on your public booking page
Formats phone numbers, addresses, and currency properly
Applies the right tax rate to invoices
Setting this up accurately from the start saves headaches later.
Accessing Business Settings
Go to Settings β Organization β General to configure your business details.
Essential Business Information
Business Name
Your official business name as you want it to appear on:
Invoices
Client agreements
Booking confirmations
Your booking page
Examples:
"Happy Paws Pet Care"
"Sarah's Dog Walking Service"
"Paws & Play Pet Sitting, LLC"
Use your registered business name if you have one. If you operate under your personal name, that works too.
Phone Number
Your main business contact number where clients can reach you.
Important: Phone number formatting is automatic based on your currency/region setting. Just enter the numbers - Scritches will format it correctly for display.
Examples (what you enter β what displays):
US:
5551234567β(555) 123-4567UK:
2012345678β020 1234 5678Australia:
0212345678β(02) 1234 5678
This number appears on invoices and your booking page.
Business Address
Your business location or service area address.
Fields:
Address Line 1: Street address
Address Line 2: Suite, unit, or additional info (optional)
City: City or town
State/Province: State, province, or region
Postal Code: ZIP code or postal code
Why this matters:
Appears on invoices (professional and potentially required by law)
Helps with local SEO if you share your booking page online
Important: Like phone numbers, address formatting is automatic based on your currency/region. Scritches displays addresses in the correct format for your location.
Billing Email
This email will be displayed on invoices sent to clients.
This can be:
Your main business email
A separate accounting/finance email
Your personal email
Best practice: Use an email you check regularly for financial matters.
Regional Settings
Currency
Choose the currency you operate in. This affects:
Invoice display: Prices shown in your currency
Phone number formatting: How phone numbers display
Address formatting: How addresses display
Currency symbols: $ vs Β£ vs β¬ etc.
Available currencies:
USD (US Dollar) - United States
CAD (Canadian Dollar) - Canada
GBP (British Pound) - United Kingdom
EUR (Euro) - European Union
AUD (Australian Dollar) - Australia
NZD (New Zealand Dollar) - New Zealand
SGD (Singapore Dollar) - Singapore
HKD (Hong Kong Dollar) - Hong Kong
ZAR (South African Rand) - South Africa
AED (UAE Dirham) - United Arab Emirates
MYR (Malaysian Ringgit) - Malaysia
ILS (Israeli Shekel) - Israel
INR (Indian Rupee) - India
CHF (Swiss Franc) - Switzerland
Choose the currency you actually charge clients in.
Timezone
Your timezone is automatically detected based on your location and updates automatically.
Why this matters:
Ensures bookings show at the correct times
Prevents confusion with appointment scheduling
Critical for multi-timezone operations
Affects when surcharges apply (weekend/holiday detection uses your timezone)
What if my timezone is wrong?
Your timezone is detected from your device/browser location. If it's incorrect:
Check your device's timezone settings
Make sure your browser has location permissions
Refresh Scritches - it should update automatically
If issues persist, contact support@scritches.io
Traveling or moving?
Your timezone will update automatically when you log in from a new location. Your bookings and availability are stored with proper timezone data, so nothing breaks when your timezone changes.
Financial Settings
Tax Rate
Enter your local sales tax rate as a percentage (if applicable).
Examples:
California:
9.5(for 9.5%)New York:
8.875(for 8.875%)Texas:
8.25(for 8.25%)No sales tax: Leave at
0
How tax is applied:
Automatically calculated on all invoices
Applied to subtotal (services + surcharges + extra pet fees)
Can be manually overridden on individual invoices if needed
Check your local requirements: Some states/regions require sales tax on pet care services, others don't. Consult with an accountant if unsure.

What happens to existing data?
In most cases, business detail updates are reflected instantly. However, if you have already sent an email, any data used will remain as it was when sent.
Common Questions
Q: Can I change my currency later?
A: Yes, you can; however, changing currency doesn't convert your prices - you'll need to manually update all service pricing. Choose carefully during setup.
Q: What if I operate in multiple timezones?
A: Scritches uses your current timezone. If you travel or move, your timezone updates automatically. All booking times are stored correctly regardless of timezone changes.
Q: Does tax rate apply to everything?
A: Tax applies to the invoice subtotal (services + surcharges + extra pet fees). It doesn't apply to tips. You can override tax on individual invoices if needed. A tax rate is not required and can be calculated outside of Scritches.
